Keep on Moving with DKNY Jeans Spring '14

seo-img-article

When DKNY Jeans opened at Pacific Place back in 2010, we were excited by the thought of getting our hands on a couple of staples that screamed “New York, New York.” Fashion out of the Big Apple is always associated with calculated indifference: an oversized designer sweater over tailored cigarette pants, a thrifted men’s blazer over a vintage bohemian dress, or a wide-brimmed sun hat with a leather jacket.

This trademark New York nonchalance is evident in DKNY Jeans’  Spring 2014 collection, which has attempted to expand on the style philosophy of individuals who roam the urban landscape. More than that, the Urban Nomads collection highlights and caters to the mobility of the perpetual motion machine that  are young city-dwellers.

The aesthetic sensibilities of the skate punk scene are combined with breathable materials like nylon and mesh. The looks are sporty and casual, but you can still find select pieces that would look great when paired with your most worn-in hi-tops to outdoor music concerts. Mesh dresses, tape-knit sweaters, and mesh dresses make up part of a lightweight collection for ease of movement, while moto silhouettes are combined with a touch of surf punk.
