Style Roundup: The Valentino Special
REDValentino at Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week
Immediately after the Valentino show, the Spring/Summer 2014 collection by REDValentino took to the stage. This is the younger sister of Valentino, with more A-line dresses and lightweight materials that represent a the REDValentino herione, who is described as someone who finds no meaning in “conventions, hierarchies and boundaries” (LOL okay, whatever). Here’s a little more info on the collection, titled Whimsical Daydreamer:
Point d’esprit, mini-crinis and ballerina poses, making sure trousers add a dash of street-savvy-ness. Gigantic bows as bags, miniscule flowers as embroideries. Dresses like cornfields, little coats like infinite flowerfields. A touch of raw hide, a flash of hemp: playing with textures with deceptive innocence.
