The Global Party is Coming to Indonesia!

I attended The Global Party press conference on May 15 to find out what it was all about.  To be totally honest, I still had no idea what the event was about despite getting an invitation. As it turned out, this year’s event is actually the second Global Party event of its kind to take place, following the inaugural event back in 2011.

The Global Party is a not-for-profit gathering, where invited guests can take part  in the movement to help raise awareness and money for local children’s charities.  As one of world’s big cities in the world with all its attractions, Jakarta is a neoteric city worthyof the opportunity to take a part in this global-charity gala. To mark this second event, The Global Party went with the theme 360°, which stands for the 360,000+ of the world’s elite at 360+ luxury venues in over 120+ cities around the world taking part.  The goal remains the same: to help 360+ local children in every city and country where they are present.

The theme for the actual Global Party is masquerade ball, so we can expect to see beautiful gowns at this event. In Indonesia, The Global Party will be held at Fable and the recently-opened casual fine dining restaurant, Odysseia, between May 27 – 29.  Fable is well-known as one of the most happening places in Jakarta that combines the restaurant, lounge, and nightclub concepts all in one.

“We are very proud to be chosen as the host of both the Global Party and the press conference about the party.  The committee has been very selective in choosing the venues for these two events and we are very thankful that they have chosen us.  As Indonesia’s first official host for the Global Party event 2013, we are honoured to contribute more for the society and share the love for a good cause.” – Jason Kurniawan, from Fable and Odysseia.

Representatives of the foundation were also present at the press conference. Local charities Kampoong Art Attack and Gubug IPPA have been selected for Fable and Odysseia respectively. Sandiaga Uno also contributes this event through his social activity, Berlari untuk Berbagi.  Another fun thing happened at the press conference were the children from Sahabat Anak who performed a dance in pink costumes. :)

Visit to learn more about the cause or if you want to participate, volunteer or help our local foundations :)
