There’s been a lot of buzz on the Female Daily Forum gravitating around wrap watches, especially those made by Los Angeles-based La Mer, and it’s easy to see why. Stylish and highly customisable, these watches come in a wide enough variety of combinations that will dress up anything you wear. They are known for their simple wrap watches, but what I liked were the chunkier looks that could make for a proper arm party.
While La Mer Watches is leading the pack in the wrist-wrap department, plenty of other labels and designers have taken their cue from the California watchmaker. Here are some outstanding ones!
Kourbe by Karl Lagerfeld. Karl Lagerfeld has said a lot of very controversial things in the past that I strongly disagree with, so it was difficult for me to put this up on the list. But while I’m busy mulling over where my moral compass is pointed, this gorgeous chainlink ion-plated watch has made its way into my wishlist.
Welkin Wrap Watch by Anthropologie. This gem by Anthropologie comes with a gold face and sky blue band. The braided leather band lends it a fun hippie quality about it; the variation in colours also means that this will easily go with anything you wear in the same colour palette.
The Midas – Gold by Feral. I will never not love the look of a bright gold watch, and now Feral has made it available in the wrap variety! Founded in 2011 by designer Megan Hollenback while living in Hawaii, her line of timekeepers is “inspired by sandy toes, salty hair, and sun kissed faces.”
The Wanderlust – Tribal by Feral. I really like the simplicity of this watch, and the coloured weaving gives it that little extra something. Great to wear on its own dressed down, but probably also great with some colourful accessories from Picnic!
