Dance. I think it is the one word that excites me the most. What do you think of when you hear the word ‘dance’? Movement routine? Upbeat music? Beyonce? Whenever I hear the word ‘dance’, I immediately think of it as a sport, because it takes strength and effort. But then I also think of it as an art – since it takes patience and grace. Dance can either be the loudest or even the most silent thing in the world. For me, dance is a way to express; my way of living.

When I was younger, I never planned to be a dancer; I have always wanted to be a fashion designer. But as I get older, I learn that dancing gives me that amazing feeling. The feeling that’s incomparable to other things. I am not a professional dancer, but I don’t think I could live without dancing.

I’ve learned many types of dances throughout the years: from Traditional Dance, Salsa, Hip-Hop, to Broadway Jazz. My passion and love of dancing grew after exploring different dance styles. Dancing is a fun way to exercise since it combines both cardio and strength in one workout. Too bad I didn’t learn Ballet when I was a kid, though. Anyway, I have been doing Zumba for the past three weeks now. I know it’s more of an aerobic, rather than dancing. But, hey, as long as it has the hip rocking moves as in the ones we find in a sexy hip-hop dance routine, let’s just count it as dancing. 😀
