Today's Outfit: How to Wear a Plaid Skirt

Anyone here is a fan of plaid motif? I’m not really a fan, but when I saw this skirt at Invio, I got to have it. What caught my eyes was the leather paneling on both sides of the skirt. I’ve been wanting something with leather paneling that doesn’t look so rebellious. Since the shape of the skirt is pencil and the motif is plaid, they kind of cancel out each other.

The key in wearing a plaid skirt is to keep the top in solid colour, not even a strip of other colour. If you want to make a little statement, try a top with a shape. Like what I wore here, I matched it with a puffy sleeves top to add structure to the whole silhouette. If you want to add pattern, try a patterned bag or scarf.
