As someone who’s wearing spectacles, I’m pleased to know that Stella McCartney is releasing an optical collection. I always love the quirks that she puts on her design. And I used to love seeing her sunglasses collection that has a vintage feel to it.
Leaning towards the classic when it comes to the range with the designer’s signature masculine-feminine touch, the first images of the collection shows the tortoise and brown-tone frame. A twist of the current trend when it comes to spectacles: two tone frame! I’m loving the execution. I’m loving it even more because it’s a plastic frame. I don’t like anything with nose pads on them and plastic frames are so much lighter.
The complete collection is due out in February through licensing with Luxottica.
Here’s the thing about this designer. You know that all of the materials she’s using for her label are eco-friendly, and she’s not even using leather for bags and shoes. The same can be expected for this collection, which is made from 54% natural materials including cellulose and natural plasticizers.
The retail price is going to be around $230 – $245, and if they’re available here in Indonesia, I would expect the price is going to be more or less the same. Considering frames doesn’t cost as much here as overseas, which I never understood how they can come up with such competitive price compared to other goods.
