Hollywood’s Rebel Belle – Kristen Stewart on July’s Vanity Fair

One-dimensional. Grouchy. Overrated. Unattractively grunge-y. Those are some of the things we’ve often read (and seen, from paparazzi snaps) about Kristen Stewart. But in July 2012 edition of Vanity Fair, Kristen told us her side of story:

“I have been criticized a lot for not looking perfect in every photograph,” Kristen Stewart tells Vanity Fair. “… I’m not embarrassed about it. I’m proud of it. If I took perfect pictures all the time, the people standing in the room with me, or on the carpet, would think, ‘What an actress! What a faker!’ That thought embarrasses me so much that I look like sh*t in half my photos, and I don’t give a f*ck.

What matters to me is that the people in the room leave and say, ‘She was cool. She had a good time. She was honest.’ …”

Aside from struggling to keep her personality in Hollywood—and not be a PR-puppet—the 22-years-old star also struggles with public’s preconceived opinions about her personality. Her boyfriend concurs. “People have decided how they are going to perceive her,” Robert Pattinson tells Vanity Fair. “No matter how many times she smiles, they’ll put in the one picture where she’s not smiling.”

Hollywood can be cruel. And being judged prematurely all the time mustn’t be easy, also. Nonetheless, one thing we can appreciate from Kristen is how she’s striving to keep being herself, and not trying to become a Red Carpet Princess. Yes, even when she is now the newest face of Balenciaga’s fragrance.

And critics who demand perfection from Kristen may bite their tongue. Just look at her fashion spread in July’s Vanity Fair. Working with famed photographer Mario Testino, Kristen poses at locations across Paris in some of Spring’s highly glamorous couture pieces. Kristen is already beautiful, but the stunning spread took her to another level. My jaw dropped!
