It wasn't much of a surprise that the L’Oreal Paris representative chosen to bestow her grace in the Cannes Film Festival 2012 is Dian Sastrowardoyo. She is a very beautiful person inside and encapsulates the true Indonesian beauty – with such grace and elegance. Cannes Film Festival 2012 runs from 16-27 May 2012 and Dian Sastro will be attending the prestigious event from 25-27 May 2012, with many agendas lined up in front of her at Cannes. Just imagine, Dian will walk on the same red carpet as renowned celebrities and beauty icons, such as Gwen Stefani, Freida Pinto, Gong Li, Eva Longoria, Jane Fonda, AishwaryaRai and many others! Why Dian Sastrowardoyo? Why not her? She is the epitome of the Indonesian beauty and elegance. She carries herself very eloquently and known for much more achievements than as an actress and model. She cares for environment and has shown her effort and contribution in building a better community through Yayasan Dian Sastrowardoyo. So, who is better than Dian Sastrowardoyo to represent L'Oreal Paris as the regional ambassador? She is a true inspiration for all Indonesian women.  Monika Sugiharso, Marketing Manager of L'Oreal Paris Indonesia said that "Dian has a beauty attitude that is in harmony with the essence of beauty [held] L'Oreal Paris. Not only that, she [will] capture the world with [her] universal beauty. Dian is passionate in learning and developing [her] talent further being the artist that she is; from starring in movies, on big screen or television, as well as taking a part in theater plays to challenge her acting capabilities and to gain a whole different experience. Her beauty seems even more radiant when she developed Dian Sastrowardoyo Foundation, which focuses on women empowerment and other social issues women face. Therefore, the departure of Dian to Cannes is a true representation of L'Oreal Paris beauty, inside out, and also what Indonesia is all about." What did Dian think about this opportunity? She humbly commented, "It's a great honor for me to go to Cannes to represent L'Oreal Paris. By following a variety of activities during the festival, including the chance to see the work of art from the word's great film makers, and also personally interact with the various actors in the film industry, I see this as the perfect opportunity to learn and expand my horizons in creative fields, in particular the film industry. When they unveil this year's theme, I was beyond excited, because this year's it's going to be Cannes Electric! The color of the makeup and the lovely gowns will revolve around the electric theme. It’s going to be one electrifying red carpet experience! With our very own Dian Sastrowardoyo will be walking the legendary red carpet, we are so excited and proud of her! In Cannes, Dian will have makeup artist Billy B who has worked with many Hollywood celebrities. During the press conference for Dian’s departure to Cannes, Adi Adrian showed us the Cannes Electric look. Contrary to what people seems to think, electric look would suit just about every skin tone – including tan – if only you know how to apply it. For the dresses, three top-tier Indonesia fashion designers have prepared their creations for Dian to use at Cannes. Who are they? <ol> 	<li>Sebastian Gunawan for media interview media – a designer to be reckoned with and who needs no further explanation. We can’t wait to see Dian in one his creation.</li> 	<li>Eddy Betty for the Red Carpet – bustier is his strength and that is exactly what he’s designing for Dian. It’s going to be a bustier gown with origami effect on the waistline with a touch of blue lace.</li> 	<li>Didit Hediprasetyo for After-Party – a party-worthy look created with a little bit of couture touch. He will be using a combination of songket and silver beading to create a maximum elegant impact for the dress. The dress that Dian wore on the press conference (shown above) was also his creation.</li> </ol> Though the outfits have been prepared for Dian before departure, but Dian will need the aid of professional fashion stylist to create that magical look. That is where <a href="http://www.michaelangel.net">Michael Angel</a> – fashion designer and stylist – takes charge. He has styled big names such as Mary Kate Olsen, Beyonce, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani and Sarah Jessica Parker. To complete the electric look, <a href="http://www.john-nollet.com">John Nollet</a>, the man behind the Amélie Bob, will transform Dian’s hairstyle. I really can’t wait to see Dian’s red carpet look.
