Underweight and Underage Models Need Not Apply

Fashion industry in printed media can be a paradox and hypocritical at times. In one page, they feature how to live healthily with exercise and a balanced diet. In another page, they show models in fancy clothes, with stick-thin body, their ribs sticking out. Whether they want to admit it or not, their paradoxical portrayal of fashion have contributed into the growing concern of distorted body image of women, young and old.

I was very happily surprised to read that Vogue magazine now pledges to no longer use under-16 and underweight models with suspected eating disorder. Finally! What takes you so long to figure this out?
