What is it? L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Shielf SPF40PA+++
The Claims: Non-oily, non-greasy protective lotion against UVA and UVB rays that will smooth and brighten the skin at the same time.
The entire products within this L’Occitane line promises a brighter, more even skin tone and smoother one. The range includes:
L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Water
L’Occitane Immortelle Essence
L’Occitane Immortelle Moisture Cream
The Star Ingredients: You can say that this product range is a spin-off from the Immortelle line. But this one, not only that it will give you a much more healthier skin, but also a brighter one. There are three main ingredients used in this range:
Immortelle – this flower known for its ability to smooth the skin by multiplying collagen production by six times more, boosting microcirculation and increasing protection against free radicals by 82%.
Bellis Perennis – promises to even out skin tone by acting on the three key steps in melanin synthesis. First, it limits the production of the enzyme known responsible for melanin synthesis by 50%. Afterward, it reduces the productivity of this enzyme by 30%. And lastly, it blocked melanin from surfacing to the skin by 70%.
Garden Nasturtium – able to give our complexion a brighter finish by smoothing and even out the skin surface. Claims to improve skin radiance by 16%.
Again, of course you will get the maximum benefit promised by these star ingredients when you used the full range.
Packaging & formula: The Brightening Shield is housed in a solid white-coloured bottle with pump. I actually like that this product comes with a pump, but the problem is that sometimes the leftover product on the pump hole dries out and blocks the release of the product from inside the bottle.
The formula of the product is really thin and milky, reminds you of the Japanese formulation of sunscreen product. It is white in liquid and absorbed quickly to the skin.
The Verdict: One of the reasons why I always opt for Japanese product sunscreen is because of the formula of the product is very milky and absorbed easily – everything that this product is.
Other than the formula of the sunscreen, I also love how it dries so fast on my skin because of the milky texture. I do, however, feel that the finish of this sunscreen is a little bit watery even on my dry skin. Don’t get me wrong – I like it because my skin is dry, but I could see how people with oily skin will not be thrilled by it at first. I think this is due to the fact that Immortelle is actually an anti-ageing line, so it’s understandable how it would be more rich in texture.
Even though the colour of the liquid is white, but when you spread out evenly onto your face, you will see very little white cast on your face, but there is still a very sheer film of white cast nonetheless.
Another point that I want to underline is that this is a broad spectrum sunscreen, so it’s just the perfect sunscreen for everyday use. On top of that, it has an added benefit of treating your skin as well. You’ll just need two pumps for the whole face and neck.
How much? IDR 595,000 (30ml)
What can be improved? The pump packaging. If they could figure out how the residue of the previous product release to not clogged the end of the pump hole, that would be excellent.
