Beauty Trend Alert: It’s All in the Eyeliner!

One thing that we’ve noticed from the last two seasons is bold stroke of eyeliner – cat-eye, winged, smudge, etc – and it keeps recurring in many runway shows. It lead us to believe, that the ability to draw eyeliner in every shape is an ability we need to master.

Why we love this trend? Because a bold eyeliner is enough to glam up your look. When everything else fails you, trust the eyeliner to fix the day :) Well, in my dictionary, that and red lipstick, but I can’t sport a red lipstick-look everyday.

The key to master this is, of course, practice, practice and practice! We know it’s difficult to make your hand steady and draw a perfectly straight eyeliner. That’s why we always encourage to draw their eyeliner in multiple small strokes instead of a long one, from inner to outer corner of the eye. Leija has previously posted her favourite cat-eye eyeliner tutorial, that is also one tutorial that we find very useful.

Another thing that you will need to nail this trend is a reliable eyeliner that won’t easily smudge! We prefer gel eyeliner because that way we can choose the brush that we want to use to our liking and because the texture is not too thin so it’s easier to draw on your eye lid.
