Now you don’t have to decide whether to choose lipstick, lipgloss or both when you get out of the door. Because Yves Saint Laurent has come with Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres where they combined the goodness of pigmented colour of lipstick and shiny luscious finish of a lipgloss.
Bottled in a slick rectangular boxy packaging with gold top, where it is shorter and chubbier than your average lipgloss tube, it can be easily mistaken for a nail polish bottle. Even the name is a play on the French term for nail polish, ‘vernis à ongles’, so yes it’s possible that you might read vernis à lèvres and mistake it for the other.
The Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres contains with what the YSL executives call as “Lifeproof Color Emulsion” where according to Nathalie Durán, YSL Perfumes and Beauty’s deputy managing director, it could give “a real nude texture, and at the same time you have lasting color and this new shine that is unique”.
