Make a Statement with Your Makeup

The best thing about being a woman is we have so many options on how to update our looks. We don’t need to always have an entirely new set of wardrobe to change our looks, we can just pick and choose which element of our style that we want to replace with fresher items. Every season, the industry is spewing out trends on wardrobe, handbags, shoes, jewelries, but when budget is low, the quickest way to look different (and I mean, good different :)) while still being current is to change your makeup style. Here are three looks that I’ve picked from the A/W ’10 runways (source: style.com)

Sultry, Bedroom Eyes

It’s Fall so naturally you’ll see a lot of smokey eyes on the runways, but smokey doesn’t have to be boring. If you want to achieve those seductive, smoldering eyes without being predictable by using black or grey – try amber. Yep, amber, the shade between gold and bronze, like we see below from Armani Prive and Alexander Wang.

Loud Mouth

Again, you can don a statement lips without going for the obvious. If you usually choose bright red, this season you should look for deeper hues such as wine, garnet even bronzed plum, just like the models at Derek Lam were sporting. Just add a hint of dark shadows (blend out until you get just a “shadow”) to keep the look mysteriously sexy.

High Brow

But it’s still too much makeup! The not-so-girly girl among you cry out. Worry not. This season also showed that you can still make enough statement without putting five different colors on your face. On Emilio Pucci, the models’ faces were colorless but still with defined brows that make them look…well fierce. Erin Wasson took it a step further, making the brows as the focal point with them being exaggeratedly drawn.

So, which look will you be making a statement with this season?
