Lanvin to Collaborate with H&M

seo-img-article

While it has been buzzing for quite sometime that Lanvin would be the next design house that will collaborate with the Swedish Retailer H&M, the news has not yet been confirmed. Not until today that we saw the news that it is confirm that the next H&M design collaboration will be with Lanvin! It has been speculated that this will be one of the best design collaboration from H&M, although we don’t want to belittle those collaboration with Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Comme des Garçons and Sonia Rykiel. But we couldn’t help but to feel excited upon hearing this news.

This collection will be designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver which will be released on 23 November 2010 in around 200 H&M stores worldwide. Good news is that the design collaboration will include both womenswear and menswear. A preview of the collection will only be available on 2 November through a special film. This film will be available at www.hm.com.

Alber Elbaz comment on the collaboration was, “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”

But what do we have here, a video link that we found on H&M facebook fans page about the 2010 design collaboration with Alber Elbaz talking about the dream.
