When we think about designer clothes, we would automatically think of expensive clothes that even though are beautiful but you know that they are not practical enough for your lifestyle. I think this is the reason why many of us opt for high street brands since they offer us the choice to be up to date with fashion without worrying if we can wear the clothes on our everyday life or not. Enter Jeffry Tan here: A new and upcoming Indonesian designer who has a clear understanding about this missing link. This Esmod graduates makes modern and wearable womenswear and menswear with many of them inspired by Indonesian heritage. His clothes are justifiably priced, if you can afford Zara retail price then you can certainly afford his clothes.
Last month we were invited to visit his atelier at The Promenade on its opening party. What’s so interesting and new about his boutique is the open kitchen concept. Meaning you can see the behind the scene activity through the glass ceiling window. Everything is made right there instead of in a big soulless factory in a strange country. One of these days I’m going back to try the Soho pencil skirt and the Annabelle top.
