Vegetarianism for health and dieting purposes

ladies.. saya sedang menimbang nimbang menjadi vegetarian.
karena ga ada threadnya saya bikin aja ya?.
moderator kalo udah ada tinggal di lock ( setahu gw belum ada pas googling juga ).
para vegetarian silahkan gabung di sini. ( sekalian saya mau nanya2 juga ),,

saya menimbang nimbang jadi vegetarian karena alasan kesehatan. saat kena FAM di PD, dan emang ga boleh makan ayam sama Daging merah( ikan sendiri emang ga begitu suka). jadinya
lagi mikir mikir buat jadi vegetarian.


Why Do People Become Vegetarians?

For much of the world, vegetarianism is largely a matter of economics: Meat costs a lot more than, say, beans or rice, so meat becomes a special-occasion dish (if it's eaten at all). Even where meat is more plentiful, it's still used in moderation, often providing a side note to a meal rather than taking center stage.
In countries like the United States where meat is not as expensive, though, people choose to be vegetarians for reasons other than cost. Parental preferences, religious or other beliefs, and health issues are among the most common reasons for choosing to be a vegetarian. Many people choose a vegetarian diet out of concern over animal rights or the environment. And lots of people have more than one reason for choosing vegetarianism.
Vegetarian and Semi-Vegetarian Diets

Different people follow different forms of vegetarianism. A true vegetarian eats no meat at all, including chicken and fish. A lacto-ovo vegetarian eats dairy products and eggs, but excludes meat, fish, and poultry. It follows, then, that a lacto vegetarian eats dairy products but not eggs, whereas an ovo vegetarian eats eggs but not dairy products.
A stricter form of vegetarianism is veganism (pronounced: vee-gun-izm). Not only are eggs and dairy products excluded from a vegan diet, so are animal products like honey and gelatin.

Some macrobiotic diets fall into the vegan category. Macrobiotic diets restrict not only animal products but also refined and processed foods, foods with preservatives, and foods that contain caffeine or other stimulants.
Following a macrobiotic or vegan diet could lead to nutritional deficiencies in some people. Teens need to be sure their diets include enough nutrients to fuel growth, particularly protein and calcium. If you're interested in following a vegan or macrobiotic diet it's a good idea to talk to a registered dietitian. He or she can help you design meal plans that include adequate

Some people consider themselves semi-vegetarians and eat fish and maybe a small amount of poultry as part of a diet that's primarily made up of vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, seeds, and nuts. A pesci-vegetarian eats fish, but not poultry.

hai say. mo tny ap? ak tmasuk lacto ovo veg d kayakny. actually pgnny se jd full veg tp susah krn situasi skitar krg mdukung. i'm a single fighter hehe. alasan awal ak vegie krn ikut2an aj lama2 atas dasar perikemanusiaan n kebinatangan deh hehe. jd ga tega makan segala jenis binatang tmasuk seafood. trus sbenarny ak jg alergi ma telur, tp bhubung msh sulit menahan hawa napsu mlihat kue2 lezat jdlah daku msh mkn telur n keju. ohya coba ikutan klub sehat aj biar lbh tmotivasi. dia jg jual makanan2 vegie. coba google aj kl ga salah websiteny klubsehat..com. hth

gue sempet jadi semi-vegetarian karena pengen ngurusin badan hahaha.. works out well sih.. skarang jadi pengen lagi.. gue jadi semi vegetarian karena gue suka banget makan sushi.. hahaha :P

baru meninmbang nimbang. sebenernya gw boleh nih refran makan ayam. tapi ayam kampung. kemaren nyokap gw cari cari ayam kampung dan di bikin sop ntah kenapa gw malah ga nafsu makan ayam sama sekali..

Gw paling takut kurang gizi nih hehehhe..
vegetarian diet paling ampuh buat kurus ya??.. gw ga minta buat kurus.. tapi sekarang semua celana gw kedodoran..
minta pola makan vegetarian yang benar ??..

wah pola mknku ga bener say. hehe jd kayaknya kurang bs bantu. imo, makan seperti pola mkn biasa aj cuma dgn menu vegie smua. kl serius, mending start blajar resep buat makanan vegie n ganti smua bumbu2 dapur jd vegie jg. trus kl buat camilan aku suka beli di klub sehat kayak buah2an yg dikeringkan gt. .setauku jg perlu tambahan suplemen vitamin krn ga makan daging itu.
tmnku jg ada yg krn sakit kanker ma dokternya disuruh robah pola mkn jd vege tp dia msh mkn daging putih alias ikan. kt dokter yg bikin penyakit itu sebagian besar dr mknan yg kt mkn.

Resep gw beli yang food Combining..
Soalnya Food combining kan ga pernah satuin carbs sama Daging2an..

tapi gw lebih parah dari yang vegetarian karena ga makan gorengan, minyak2an sama sekali

cross my mind to be a vegetarian for health purposes. tp kyknya kl tinggal di indonesia agak susah ya. kl di luar byk resto utk vege.
valleygirl: kamu apa ga kleyengan?
dgr2 vegetarian mesti minum supplement tertentu ya supaya ga defisiensi vitamin

jangan kaget ya kl byk juga yang vegetarian and become fat. krn yang mereka makan basically kan carbs which turn to be fat / store as fat while they are not used.

vege emang ga menjamin berat bdn turun imo, ibu2 yg buka resto veg dkt rumahku soalnya jg pd subur2. kalo ga salah mesti konsumsi vit.b deh buat org2 vege.

alice : gw baca si cuman vitamin b 12 tuh.
soal makan carbs lebih banyak, bener tuh gw kurangin lagi carbsnya.
Gw mesti jaga makanan , masalahnya gw kemaren ada FAM di PD.
Takut muncul lagi Famnya.

oh iya vitamin b12 bisa kita dapat dari Sereal yang di fortifikasi b12.
Sekarang gw sering pusing ( tampak anemia ). gw pengen nyari forum forum biksu.
Secara mereka berlatih sholin ( martial arts gitu ) tapi ga makan daging .
Gimana caranya tuh tetep Fit.

valeygirl, bukan vegetarian pun kadang suatu waktu kita bisa defisiensi satu/beberapa jenis vitamin n mineral kok karena pola makan yang kurang seimbang. aku gak makan daging merah ataupun kaldunya karena gak suka sama tekstur dan baunya. unggas aja angin2an, kadang doyan, kadang enggak, itupun yang tanpa kulit dan tanpa hormon (prefer ayam kampung drpd broiler). nah, untuk ikan, karena takut nutrisi jadi gak seimbang, diusahain konsumsi 3x seminggu deh. paling gak minyak ikan kapsul. telur dalam bentuk utuh, baik direbus, mata sapi atopun orak-arik, gak ada seminggu sekali konsumsinya. tapi kalo merupakan campuran dimasakan, masih dimakan. susu sapi, masih minum 2 hari sekali tapi lebih sering susu soya, itupun diwarning dokter untuk gak lebih dari 500ml sehari karena ada masalah hormon (jaga2 aja, biarpun penelitian ttg tu masih banyak kontroversi).

... paling yoga seminggu sekali, jogging 30-60 menit tiap hari n latihan beban seminggu 1-2 kali. gak ada masalah lemas ato pusing2 tuh. oia, konsumsi karbo-nya diganti sama whole weat bread or havermout. dari kecil gak gitu suka nasi. nah, yang berat ni, harus cut off kentang. doyan banget soale. kurangin gula, gak gitu masalah selama masih dibolehin dark coklat, karena kurang suka manis. tapi kalo garam, waduuu... rada syusah tuh, doyan makanan rada asin.
