gue juga pake iPhone, and IMHO it's the best phone i've ever had. sama sekali gak bosen karena application-nya dari third party (unlock version) udah banyak banget yang available dan siap di-install. kalau bosen tinggal di uninstall terus ganti sama yang baru.
it's not just another eye candy in my opinion. it's stylish but functional as well. dan sangat compatible apalagi kalau pake produk mac lain like macbook

dari dulu tiap punya hp yaudah kalo jatoh ya nasib aja. but this one, i can't even let this baby ditaro di atas meja without any protection. had it for months and keeping it smooth.

TiCiBee, untuk masalah reparasi gak usah kuatir, karena banyak banget master iPhone disini, terutama Jakarta. most of the people who develops the unlocking system are Indonesian and they created the application (Repo Sources) as well.
Kalau iPhone ada masalah seperti hang dsb, it's really easy to fix, tinggal direstore aja (sekarang untuk unlock you can do it yourself, less than 5 minutes!)
Dan untuk masalah kerusakan H/W, seperti parts, udah banyak banget parts iPhone yang dijual lepasan untuk penggantian kerusakan. Dan biayanya terjangkau.

Menurut laki gue, kalo restore iPhone ngga semudah membalikkan tangan tuh. Soalnya kalo salah restore, yg ada bisa ke lock lagi (which happened to a cpl of his friends), dan akhirnya harus unlock dari awal. He's a Test Engineer who design algorithms for software, jadi he's very comfortable with these things.

Ya salah gue juga sih, gak tinggal di negara yg banyak Mangdu dan Roxy nya (atau kali laki gue yg kurang pinter?)

The 3G will be harder to unlock kayanya. AT&T subsidi $200 per phone, and they will impose stricter rules in getting the phone. Gosipnya sih gitu

Indonesia sayangnya gak kebagian jatah barang resminya (just like the 1st gen). Negara yang terdekat sama kita yang bakal dijajah sama si 3G ini ya S'Pore (bundling dengan SingTel).
Kalau masalah batre sih gue sendiri gak ngalamin. Kalau kita setting dengan mode yang battery efficient, penggunaan normal (telpon, sms, dengerin iTunes, nonton video), batre bisa tahan sampe 3 hari. Gue gak pernah kurang dari 2 hari sebelum harus ngecharge lagi.
uberboston, that was a topic yang sempet HOT di kalangan mac users. Dulu, proses restore itu bisa makan waktu seharian, dan kalo salah bisa ngerusak H/W juga, jadi sangat risky (that's why dulu iPhone yang kalo dikurs harganya cuma sekitar 4jt dibandrol jadi 6-7jt, karena yang nge-unlock ngerasa it's really hard to do it)
Tapi sekarang udah banyak banget system yang easy to use dan harmless. Sekarang sih i find it easy to restore my phone (walaupun gak sering ngehang), tapi sempet bantuin temen2x yang hang dan there wasn't any problem dengan unlocking system yang baru. Emm, kalau masalah unlock lebih susah sih pasti karena kayaknya penggunaan firmware dll-nya juga beda. But the mac masters will figure it out sooner or later for us indonesians. Kalau di amrik sih emang AT&T ngejajah si iPhone, so mau gak mau harus pake dia.

. Kalo baca fiturnya sih keliatannya iPhone ini bagus ya, dengan harga yg lumayan terjangkau. Cuma, aga males juga sih benernya pindah provider ke AT&T.. apalagi kalo baca yg uberboston tulis diatas, kalo AT&T bakalan bikin rules yg makin strik di kontraknya

dulu gue sempet jualan Iphone di indo wkt baru2 banget Iphone keluar,
yang dijualin wkt itu masih yg 4gb-an.
gue pribadi suka banget banget banget dgn OS nya Iphone, bener2 smart
click & show. wifi + music + multimedia + stock + note = hidup sangat mudah!
tapi gue sendiri udah jual iphone pribadi haha...

anntique, emang tuh, dari iPhone 1st generation, emang di eropa dijualnya bisa berkali² lipat. dulu iPhone di US kan pasarannya $399 tapi di eropa dilepasnya hampir $700. lumayan deh. kalo info harga yang $199 dan $299 itu gue dapet dari review² mac dan apple. kalau ada update lebih lanjut akan gue infokan.
emm, kalo untuk masalah suara, sekarang udah ada volume booster, suaranya jadi sekitar 30% lebih kenceng dan lebih jernih. kalo kamera sih sekarang udah ada app snapture dan sejenisnya supaya hasil fotonya lebih bagus. tapi memang iPhone itu bagusnya kalo cahayanya ada.

Rasanya kalo masih harus di unlock unlock begitu males banget deh. Kalo udah bisa di pake bebas baru mau beli ah. Soalnya kalo sampe nanti ada masalah, repot mau di kemana-manainnya. Lagipula harga jualnya jatuh banget deh... bisa selisih 2 jt sama yang baru. Not worthed banget.

Kalo disini ada provider yang mau subsidi begitu sih gua juga mau, toh secara gua pengeluaran buat nelpon juga sekitar US$40 per bulan.

jadi ada yang versi unlockednya...nah mungkin yang begini yang bisa diambil...

kalo di locked gitu, ntar kalo lo pake iphone dengan provider vodafone misalnya, terus lo brengkit k indo...ya..udahan donk iphonenya?

Iya, udahan emang. Tetep pake provider vodafone atau offline mode.

Tapi sebenernya kalo belinya yang 16GB seharga 199, terus ga di aktifin AT&T nya, tetep aja lebih menguntungkan dibandingkan beli iPod Touch yang harganya lebih mahal, ya gak sih?
