Sulwhasoo Evenfair Perfecting Cushion Review

seo-img-article

Recently, I was offered to try this recently available new product from Sulwhasoo. Being a devoted fan and religious Sulwhasoo user, I jumped at the chance, of course. In the past, Sulwhasoo also had the Evenfair Make Up Base and Evenfair Foundation, both of which I’ve tried with amazing results. Obviously I was pretty excited to try the newest member of Evenfair family, but first, a little background story on the brand and Evenfair lineup.

Sulwhasoo is a premium Korean skincare line. Their main ingredients are derived from ginseng fermented in honey. Evenfair is their makeup line which main focus is to even out skin tones (from redness, dark areas, dullness, etc). This particular line is not overly moisturizing (like the Extra Refining or Time Treasure series), therefore is suitable for normal, combi-oily, even oily skin.

A little background story about my skin condition: it’s moody, prone to pimples and cystic acne, combi-oily, with pores that will put oranges to shame. I’m more a BB or CC Cream kinda girl, because I like it simple and natural looking, and foundation is waaaayy to formal. So, it’s safe to say I tried this with some apprehension.

Now, lets take a look of the product!

Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion

I was quite taken aback when I first opened the package. The box contains the simple yet elegant compact casing with 2 (yes! Two!) refills! At under 700K rupiahs, this was quite a bargain, especially for a premium brand like Sulwhasoo.

If you’ve been wondering, what exactly is the meaning of “cushion,” there it is. The liquid itself is seeping from underneath the spongy material (the “cushion”) through evenly distributed minuscule pores of the cushion.  The puff sponge provided is very smooth also. Unfortunately, I’m quite hopeless in applying foundation with sponges, so I will use my trusty Tarte Kabuki Brush instead.

It also has multiple benefits :

  • Sunscreen (SPF 50+/PA+++)
  • Brightening Effect
  • Wrinkle Correction
  • Improved Skin Elasticity

Sulwhasoo claims it has great coverage because of its Inner Dispersion Technology — The Water Colour Method, the pigments are diffused in water instead of oil. This ensures that the emulsion will be absorbed evenly by skin without lumping or streaking. Creates radiant glow, natural-looking even with high coverage. Promises to stay flawless up to 12 hours (now this brings me tears of joy).

This product also contain Apricot Kernel Oil, which prevents collagen decomposition and helps to improve skin’s elasticity & resilience.
