Many Halloweens ago, I went as a low-budget Freddie Krueger: all I had to do was pull a striped black-and-red sweater over my head, tape some plastic knives onto my hands, and liberally applied fake blood all over my face. It was an adequate enough costume, but I really think I would’ve won a Best Costume award if I had done these simple steps in special effects makeup to simulate burns.
In the last instalment of out Halloween Special, Theresia Feegy schools me on committing to the Halloween costume with these very easy-to-do burns. Maybe it’s time revisit the Freddie Krueger costume this Halloween and take it from low-budget to blockbuster levels of costuming 😉
