This is a little left of field, considering that today’s Made In Indonesia Week brand was designed with men in mind — but I’m not about to let the boys have all the fun.
Hijack Sandals are a Bandung-based company that produces leather sandals. I was pointed in the general direction of this brand by Vanya, and despite appearing to be targeted mainly at men, it struck a chord with the utilitarian-loving, hippie-aspiring, Birkenstock-wearing part of my brain.
Rooted in a philosophy that prioritizes “…[ergonomics], traditional [craftsmanship], comfort, and modern aesthetics,” Hijack Sandals has produced a line of handcrafted unisex footwear. Boasting soles that “squeeze like marshmallow on feet, these look like the type of sandals you can wear all day long without worrying about murdering your feet.
One of the perks of being a business owner and style enthusiast in Indonesia is also reflected in the price range: with models that go between IDR 230,000 – 450,000, this is seriously affordable comfort for your casual daily needs.
