Do you remember our first makeup for glasses tutorial? We decided to revisit the world of eyeglasses with a look that’s more in line with the smokey fall look video we posted last week.
My friend Syar (of Malaysia’s recently-retired but excellent Issue Magazine) is gifted with many things: she is an avid reader and an annoyingly talented writer, but she also has natural eyelashes that stretch for miles and miles. When she popped over to Jakarta for a visit, I simply had to record the longest lashes in Southeast Asia on video. Seriously, all she needed was one coat of the Max Factor Excess Volume Mascara to make them stand out.
We kept practicing the same ground rules for makeup with glasses: go heavy on the eyes to make them pop and prevent the frames from overwhelming them, but take it easy on the lips and cheeks. For Syar’s warm skin tone, we used the subtle TheBalm Instain in Houndstooth on her cheeks (also my favorite shade from the Instain range), and combined a matte Revlon lipstick with a Rimmel London lipstick (HOORAY for drugstore beauty).
