Another season in fashion, another preview! H&M held a preview of its Autumn/Winter ’14 at Grand Indonesia. In addition to warm fall hues reminiscent of falling leaves (brown, orange, black), another common thread that brought the collection together was how varied in texture it was. From thick, warm sweaters to cool mesh dresses, there was enough to get you dressed up for fall in Oslo or Jakarta.
The items in the men’s collection was on point too, as usual. Like the Autumn ’13 collection, it was heavy, layered, and monochromatic — and like the Autumn ’13 collection, a lot of it will probably go to waste unless you live in an air-conditioned room or a country that actually has sweater weather. Materials like leather, wool, and mohair were present, but the collection also made room for cooler materials more suitable to Indonesian weather, like nylon and cotton.
