#FDBeauty Video Tutorial: How to Do Blue Eyeshadow

There’s no denying that here in Jakarta, the weather has been crazy hot. I mean, people say that about Jakarta weather all the time, but I’ve been feeling the heat on my morning walks to the office. Here are some things you need to remember in the thick of this heat:

  • Wear SPF. So, so important to understand how long you can stay under the sun before you have to retouch your SPF. We like the new Super Stick Solitaire from Sisley for easy touch-ups whenever you need them. Don’t forget to make sure that your sun protection products can protect against UVA and UVB too.
  • Slather a moisturizer with SPF on parts of the body exposed to sunlight. You may be tempted to battle the heat in something short and/or sleeveless, but don’t forget that your limbs need a little bit of loving too. My favorite body lotion with sun protection is still the lightweight Nivea Body Serum.
  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Water is your best friend. Skin is a reflection of our body’s overall well-being, and one way we can keep our body in check is by making sure our bodies are well-stocked with good old H2O.

I’m a big fan of the “fake it til you make it” school of thought, so I also think that this heat is a good time to make use of blue eyeshadow. Blue eyeshadow is a great color to have in the heat because every time you check your fine self out in the mirror, your peepers will remind of you of cooler, breezier things — like a glass of iced water, a desert oasis, or Anderson Cooper.

Wearing blue eyeshadow does not mean you’re stuck in the 1980s — keep it modern by with a hint of frosty shimmer to it. Check out how Shella keeps her cool in frosty blue eyeshadow from Kiko Milano, and how you can get the look too.
