Recycle Your Jeans For A Good Cause
There are two main reasons as to why people throw pairs of jeans into the back of their wardrobes and never wear them again:
- They are bored of the jeans
- They cannot fit into the jeans anymore
Most of the reasons why I’ve abandoned my jeans is because of the second reason (TT__TT), and now I have a four foot-high pile of denim just sitting there, probably never to be worn again. Instead of just throwing them out, I plan on heading over to a Levi’s store and trading them in for Rp. 250,000 voucher for Levi’s jeans. This is part of the company’s recycling program with a very worthy cause: each pair of donated jeans will in turn be given to people who need them. This is done in collaboration with two charities, ACT (Aksi Cepat Tanggap) and YCAB (Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa). So by getting rid of jeans that you no longer wear, you reap good karma in the form of a empty wardrobe space, the happiness from donating clothes to people who cannot afford them, and a pretty good voucher to buy replacement pairs with. So what are you waiting for? Turn in your unused jeans to the Levi’s store closest to you!
Estée Lauder Double Wear Extreme Zero-Smudge All-Effects Mascara
Estée Lauder, aka the purveyors of my favorite liquid eyeliner to date, have announced the arrival of the Double Wear Extreme Zero-Smudge All-Effects Mascara. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s just about the longest/most descriptive name for a mascara I’ve ever heard. This mascara has been tested and formulated with a brand new LashPerm Fiber technology, with a lightweight, build-able, and washable formula — but just because it’s not waterproof doesn’t mean that it will run or smudge throughout the day, even in humid weather. The hollow mini-molded brush as also been specially for Asian eyes and lashes to provide maximum length, volume curl, and definition.

L’Oreal Professionnel Pro-Keratin Refill
I think “keratin” has been the buzzword of the hair care world that refuses to die, like how “big data,” “synergy,” and “buzzword”have refused to die out as buzzwords too. But I digress: keratin is a protein found in hair, and it has become a buzzword thanks to its role in the Brazilian blowout, a semi-permanent form of hair treatment that is also known as keratin treatment. The purpose of chemically applying keratin to hair is to make it smoother and less frizzy, purportedly cutting down blow-drying and hairstyling times in half. Of course it isn’t without its detractors, who say that the the keratin treatment process requires the application of formaldehyde — a toxic carcinogenic — to hair. This is why hair care products that contain keratin products are so popular, because they offer the results of a salon keratin treatment without the toxic ingredients.
L’Oreal Professionnel is riding on the crest of the keratin product craze and has released the Série Expert Pro-Keratin Refill, its first line of hair care products that are based on the hullabaloo’d protein. The range consists of a hair mask, shampoo, conditioner, and the curiously-named powerdose, which is a concentrate that instantly gives vitality and strength to hair. Unlike the other products in this line, the powerdose is designed for special use at salons. Frank & Co. Releases the Verve Collection
If you’re looking to buy a little trinket to treat yourself with, you’ll be happy to know that Frank & co have just released the Verve Collection, an intricately detailed collection composed of 18k gold with touches of rose gold and white gold, alongside a peppering of pave micro-set diamonds. The diamonds are of F color and VVS clarity — which means that they are colorless and contain only very, very slight inclusions (imperfections).
