Beauty Advice for Disney Villains
Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmations (1961)
The Look: Thin, high-arched eyebrows that frame eyelids covered in dusty brown eyeshadow and lined with a thin application of eyeliner. Thin lips painted in blue-red lipstick. Sallow, one-dimensional, pale complexion with no observable contouring or shading. The first woman in modern pop culture with colorblocked hair.
The Problem: Poorly-shaped eyebrows.
The Solution: I understand Cruella’s plight, you guys: she’s a busy woman, so she doesn’t have time for blusher or mascara. A swipe of MAC Russian Red on her lips and a single application of purple eyshadow and liquid eyeliner on her heavy lids is totally fine to help her get through the day, but her brows are ruining the simplicity of the look. This isn’t the early 2000s — she needs to update her look with bold eyebrows, and she can start with this cocktail of products recommended by our very own Acesa.
