Tried & Tested: MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage

seo-img-article

Did it work? Yes and no.

Did it make foundation easier to apply and last longer? Yes. Liquid foundations glided on smoothly and finished with a color that popped even more.

Did it give skin a matte but bright finish? Yes.

Did it keep skin matte for the entire day? It was debatable in my case: as far as oil control goes, there was basically no difference between wearing the primer and not. It excelled in other areas, but was simply so-so when it came to keeping my skin looking matte all day.

See for yourself: both hands covered with foundation, but only the left hand was prepped with the primer.

So if you’re looking for a primer that helps even out skin texture for easier application of foundation, I highly recommend the MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage. But don’t expect miracles if it’s oil control you’re looking for. The search for a mattifying primer is back on for me! Do you have any recommendations? 😉
