Do You Dare to Go Red?

seo-img-article

We will never get bored talking about the joys of wearing red lipstick, and we will continue encouraging you to try to do the same. There was also that time we tested out three different red nail polishes, and we will even toy with a dash of red blusher. So while we’re really big fans of the color red around here, I don’t think we’ve ever talked about the appeal of red hair.

I think at least once in every girl’s life, she thinks about dying her hair a fire-engine red. I was nineteen when I followed through with my vision of having fire-engine red (and I LOVED it), but red hair is notorious for being difficult to maintain because the color-charged particles that make up red hair dye are large, and therefore will slide from the hair shaft faster than other colors. This is why dyed red hair is so not as colorfast as, say, purple. This is why people with dyed red hair make more trips to tone and cover up the brassiness in their washed-out locks.

But still for all its high-maintenance fuss, I wish I was still sporting a red like our friend and recent #FDBeauty video tutorial collaborator’s, Jenna Lani. Why? Because L’Oreal Professionnel recently announced that the lates hair color trend is all about red.

Dramatic Red (800x600)

Led by L’Oreal Professionnel’s Education Manager, Indra Tanudarma, the Indonesian LP team has created a customized palette of reds formulated specifically for the Indonesian market. But don’t worry! If you’re not too crazy about the fire engine red, there are ways of still wearing it in a less loud manner. Much like grey, red comes in many different shades: you can opt for a darker red with purple accents for a more conservative look.

Hypnotic Red (800x600)

And if you’re worried about the red washing out quickly, don’t worry: ask your hairstylist for a color from the L’Oreal Professionnel Majirouge range, which is more highly pigmented than ever.
