Apart from the breakup of pop music’s greatest power couple, this matching denim over denim look is probably the worst thing to have ever happened to the Justin & Britney unit. But I guess the Spring ’14 season has had designers longing for the early 2000s, because we’re seeing a couple of ready-to-wear looks that proudly flaunt meters of blue denim.

First off, DKNY Jeans:

And then we see a similar trend going on at Armani Exchange as well:

Even Louis Vuitton got into the denim game, although they paired theirs with sheer floor-length dresses:

While it has been decreed as the most democratic fabric, it takes a special kind of person to successfully sport an all-denim look without crossing over into the weird part of the 1980s. If you have the sass to pull it off, then go for it! The wet weather has made this a preferred fabric of many people in the office too, because of its sheer hardiness. When you finally decide to join the denim over denim bandwagon, just remember to not overwhelm the overall look by keeping it simple with hair and accessories. And don’t forget to post you final look over at Clozette Daily when it happens 😉
