Futuristic Minimalism at Calvin Klein Platinum Label

In May 2013, the head honchos behind ck Calvin Klein made the decision to “…[enhance] and [expand] the Calvin Klein lifestyle” through a rebranding. Since then, the “bridge” sportswear and accessories tier of the Calvin Klein family has been known as Calvin Klein Platinum Label. Despite the name change, the aesthetics of the label have remained consistently athletic with an edgy minimalism.

The Spring 2014 collection features a fusion of fabric: wool denims and chambrays are combined with silks and leathers to produce an effect that is altogether modern but timeless. The minimalist philosophy of the label is further underlined with the straight lines seen on basic shirts, pleated skirts, slip dresses, and raglan coats.

Black and platinum dominate the color palette, with splashes of emerald jewel tones and neutral pink popping up every now then. So while the cuts give a laid back feel to the collection, it still manages to remain relaxed without looking sloppy through innovative pairings of textures and fabrics.
