Diane Von Furstenberg Springs into 2014

seo-img-article

A tall, cool glass of water: that’s the idea behind the Spring 2014 collection from the house of Diane von Furstenberg. The collection — aptly called Oasis — has been unleashed onto the catwalk, and a blip from the press release describes the Oasis woman as “An island unto herself, she emerges in black and white with pops of red, a mix of quiet calm and joie de vivre.”

PR schmaltz aside, everything about the collection bears the classic markers of von Furstenberg’s work: free-flowing fabrics united by tailored cuts and clean, classic silhouettes. The entire collection, as a whole, looks as if it’s out to cater a wide spectrum of personal tastes, with crisp whites, corset tops, maxi dresses, and sequinned Great Gatsby-esque shift dresses. The classic zebra pattern makes its way back in the form of a two-piece outfit, but it’s kept from being loud and ostentation thanks to a simple and slim, fitting cut.
