Pasttime Glory: Bring Back MAC Beauty Powder Blush!

seo-img-article

I have lately been feeling particularly nostalgic about my makeup collection. As a self-proclaimed makeup junkie, I have been taking a break in my makeup hoarding habit and trying to live off what I already have. Of course I’ve not completely weaned myself from purchasing makeup, but one or two products every now and then won’t hurt, right?

My recent nostalgia took me back to the 2008 Color Story collection from MAC, which included the release of eight shades of the blush. When I first heard of it, I thought it was just a gimmick to sell yet another limited-edition blush. As it turned out, the formula was substantially different from MAC’s regular lineup of blush, though the packaging was just the same.

How did the formula differ? It has very fine shimmering particles that gave a more pigmented color. What you saw on the pan was almost what you would see on your cheeks as well. What made me giddy with excitement is that all eight shades are bold and vibrant. It’s also ultra-smooth: you can feel it when you swatch it with the tip of your finger, which is exactly the reason why it gave such good color payoff. It’s also why that it would blend like a dream on your cheeks: the shimmer is subtle and reflects light in the loveliest of ways. It’s so fine that I could use my MAC 188 (a small duo-fiber brush) to apply product to my cheeks.

The point is, it’s one of the holy grail blushes in my collection!

You know what MAC should do? Ditch the formula of their regular blush and start making it with the Beauty Powder Blush formula. Bring it back MAC! I love this product to bits. (more…)
