M Dreams: For Melissa Shoes Lovers Out There

Melissa, the famous Brazilian shoe brand, finally has its own store here in Jakarta. It’s calledĀ M Dreams, and I was very excited to attend the grand opening ceremony last week. DesZell is an avid fan of the brand, where she has appeared in Today’s Outfit posts wearing the shoes numerous times. I, on the other hand, have never owned a pair before. The store’s minimalistic approach is quite interesting. The walls were stark white with light beige wooden flooring. There’s a round column in the middle of the store, and instead of using standalone shelves or racks, the displays are mostly attached to the walls, making them seamlessly part of the interior. The shape of these ‘racks’ are unique, with lots of curves. The resulting look is clean but dynamic.

The only issue I found here is that even though the store feels spacious, I don’t feel it could fit as many shoe designs and colorways. I wish they made a three-tiered display rather than just two. And the display could get pretty narrow in width, placing the shoes in awkward position. This doesn’t showcase or highlight them well in the end.
