Good to The Last Drop: The Essentials

I’ve never done an ‘Empties’ post before, so I thought I should do one, and more often. With the amount of beauty products that I’ve purchased, it will be a good thing to keep track of what I actually used up.

Let’s begin!

L’Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm Stick – I have used tubes and tubes of this. It’s one of my essentials for keeping my lips chapped-free. Because the balm is rather soft, I always store it in a cool place to prevent a mushy mess. And yes, I always keep unopened stock in my house.

Shiseido Perfect UV Protector SPF 50+ PA+++ – I made the big mistake of not using sunscreen years ago and now I have to live with the aftermath: sun spots. Lesson learned the hard way, I now never come out of the house without this. Its milky white, runny texture is to my liking. It spreads easily across the face, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave a greasy or sticky residue. I swear this makes my makeup hold up better too. A definite keeper in my skincare arsenal!

Shu Uemura Tsuya Skin – I’m on my second bottle as I type this. I use this as a pre-serum now and find it works well with other serums that I own. I’m going to watch out for a 20%-off promotion on Shu Uemura’s website, head to MarketPlaza, and stock up.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads – this is still an indispensable product in my skincare routine. Since my skin has gotten better, I don’t use it as often as I used to, but I can always rely on this whenever I have a slight breakout during that ‘time of month,’ or whenever my complexion needs perking up. I’m on my fourth (or fifth?) tube and always stock up on this whenever possible.

Clarisonic Delicate and Deep Pore Brush – well, it’s not exactly a product I used up per se, but it’s something that needs to be replaced every once in a while. I usually use two different types of brushes interchangeably during a period of time. The Delicate brush is perfect for light makeup days while the Deep Pore brush cleanses deep into the skin (pores to be exact). Both feel soft to the touch.

Chanel White Essentiel Makeup Base 10 Rosée – it’s considered to be my HG for makeup base. Chanel renamed this line into Le Blanc, if I’m not mistaken. Comes in several different shades to suit different skin tones and needs. Rosée has a brightening effect on my skin. It took a really long time to finish one up, because I only need such a small amount for each application. It held up my makeup really well. It doesn’t hurt that it has SPF too.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara – just like Gris, I love this mascara too. My lashes are almost non-existent lashes; on top of that, they are thin, short stubby sticks, and super straight. By using this, somehow they magically appear. The formula holds up the curl well too. I usually stock up when I find a promotion at local drugstores :D

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre 20 Clair – it took me about a year and a half to finish this. It’s huge, with each product measuring up to 30 grams. I use this to set all of my liquid foundations, and I’m not even tempted to try other brands because this works wonderfully. Right now, I’m trying to pry out the sifter in the hopes of reusing the old tub to store jewelry and knick knacks :)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Brunette – I have used this up quite a few times too, and always keep them in stock as well. The pencil is retractable and thin, which is perfect for drawing up lines to mimic the brows. It has a convenient spoolie on the other end as well. This Brunette is a dark brown shade without that icky red undertone, which is quite hard to find. I’m actually also interested in trying out the Medium Ash shade.

YSL Touche Éclat #1 - another HG of mine. I carry it in my pouch and keep one in the vanity. This multitasking gold pen is my ultimate weapon to achieve instant brightening and radiance for my complexion. It brightens my under eye area like no other. When I want my red/dark lipsticks to look clean and polished, I’d line the outer edges of my lips with this. I use it to clean up my smudged-up lower lash lines. It’s an amazing highlighter for the bridge of my nose, brow bones, cupid’s bows and chin. This thing is my savior for those lack-of-sleep days and many other occasions. Despite the hefty price tag, I will keep buying it again and again :)

Until next time ;)
