When someone asks me what my favorite TV shows are, I prattle off safe and “socially acceptable” titles that will not make me lose street cred. I always mention critical darlings like Blackadder, The X-Files, and Generation Kill, but I’m never as quick to admit that procedural cop dramas are my jam. My guilty pleasure is without a doubt the entire Law & Order franchise (yes, even you, Law & Order: UK), but the one I hold dearest in my heart would have to be Law & Order: SVU. One of the most rewarding aspects of watching this show has been observing how Olivia Benson (played by real life tough cookie Mariska Hargitay) has evolved as a character, and how her hair has also gone through some sort of Pokemon-type evolution throughout the years.
