Lipstick Monday: Givenchy Le Rouge in Mandarine Boléro
On my last installment of Lipstick Monday posts, I wore Givenchy Le Rouge in Fuchsia Irrésistible. Today, I’m going to show you another shade that I got in Le Rouge.
Perfect for the sizzling summer, the hot 304 Mandarine Boléro.
Again, the genuine black lambskin leather and silver stud detail still stun me. Everything is just well thought out. The luxurious exterior, the polished interior and down to the unique fragrance of the lipstick. I feel incredibly chic whenever I pull this out of my purse.
It really is becoming a fashionable accessory on its own, don’t you think?
Mandarine Boléro is a muted orange with strong red undertones. It’s very wearable and doesn’t make me look jaundiced. It doesn’t look ostentatious, or worse, gaudy. You know it’s orange, but it won’t hurt anyone’s eyes who decides to pay a glance.
Like its sister Fuchsia Irrésistible, the formula is beautiful. It’s a semi matte lipstick. It applies creamy and it doesn’t drag my lips. It’s pigmented in one stroke, two if you like it really saturated like I do. It just sticks to my lips effortlessly, stays on and wears down nicely throughout the day.
As usual, with a formula like this, it’s essential properly prep the lips. Moisturize well. Exfoliating beforehand is crucial. You do not want the unsightly dry bits of your lips to show, shamelessly downgrading a beautiful shade of lipstick or even make scratchy marks on the lipstick and some even stuck to it (ahem, did it ever happened to anyone before?).
Oh by the way, the dress is from Minimal which I find perfect to go with Mandarine Boléro. See how the orange is muted enough that it doesn’t scream “Look at my pout!”. And yet it still has that “wow factor” that’s going turn heads.
Apparently, owning an orange lipstick got me wanting more. *hint*
