If science is still on the search for a perpetual motion machine or another renewable source of energy, I think they need to look no further than Dian Krishna Mukti. This is hardly surprising for a woman whose résumé includes Puteri Indonesia winner, reporter, and mother to a three year-old boy. I interviewed her after she had just concluded filming for The Apprentice Asia, a reality television show in which she competes for the role of protege to Malaysian multi-millionaire and AirAsia founder, Tony Fernandes. At the end of the interview, I asked if we could possibly peek into the makeup pouch in her bag.
For someone who is in the business of looking good, she carries around a very modest beauty arsenal! This is telling of her confidence she has in her natural beauty; I like how she doesn’t use her beauty as a crutch, how she keeps her dependency on beauty products to a minimum. And for further testimony to just how down-to-earth she is, check out the pouch she keeps her makeup in: it’s actually the pouch that came with a pair of flats that she bought!
Save for a coral-colored lipstick she picked up from The Body Shop, everything else in her pouch came from bareMinerals. She’s a fan of the READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 powder foundation, the pigmentation from 100% Natural Lipcolor, the hydration of the Pretty Amazing Lipcolor, the shine from 100% Natural Lipgloss, and Blush. She swipes on the blush with a compact Buff & Go Brush, also from bareMinerals.
I’ve always been on the fence about mineral makeup, but I’m not about to turn down beauty advice from a beauty queen!
Want more Dian? An interview will be posted here very soon, but in the meantime you can catch her in new episodes of The Apprentice Asia, airing every Wednesday on AXN at 8 PM Jakarta time.
