The next product is Pond’s Men. This month, Pond’s Men launched their new variants for face wash and face moisturizer. Ok, I’m already familiar with men washing their face, but I was actually surprised to know that men also have their own moisturizer! 😀 Nowadays, men are starting to pay a close attention to their skin regiment. I have three brothers and as far as I’m concern, three of them are using a face wash on a daily basis, and sometimes they even use mine. So when Debora Gondokusumo as Pond’s Brand Manager said that Pond’s is a familiar brand for men and a lot of men are using it, I tend to agree. The interesting thing is, Pond’s claimed 25% of men still use Pond’s face wash (for women) even though they know Pond’s Men is available. Nationwide, 40% of Pond’s users are male.
dr. Eddy Karta SpKK explained to us that men have rougher pores compared to women’s. Men’s skin is also thicker but it actually makes their skin to be more sensitive and the skin barrier is less strong in comparison to women’s. Same goes as the scalp, the skin of the face produces more oil if we wash it too often. After we wash our face so many times in one day, the skin dries out and becomes easily irritated, so it produces more oil to protect itself. Washing the face twice a day is enough, actually.
