First Dibs into the Marc Jacobs Cosmetics Collection

I sat down at my work desk this morning thinking about what I’m going to write today. I was thinking, maybe today is the day that I’m going to write something that is fashion related. Apparently it’s not going to happen today. As a beauty junkie that often relapses, the pictures of Marc Jacobs beauty line at Sephora interest me more than anything else and that also beats the news of H&M collaboration with Isabel Marant – which I’m just going to leave to Dhany to write about it.

Yes, pictures of the new beauty line from Marc Jacobs, which is going to be available at Sephora as soon as 9 August, are finally available. I was waiting with anticipation for months for a sneak peek, but I have to tell you, the lackluster packaging is kind of disappointing. See it for yourself!

One of the most important things that I expect from famed designers who go into the foray of color cosmetic is an out of this world packaging. Apparently, it can not be said about Marc Jacobs’ which despite of choosing the eternally classic colour of black, still I couldn’t pair it up with neither luxurious nor sleek. It just looks…okay. Don’t take it the wrong way, I think when well executed, black can be a really great packaging colour. Take for example, Tom Ford’s color cosmetic packaging, it’s very divine! I don’t know what it is, but it just looks too simple. (more…)
