5 Things to Consider When Choosing a Gym

seo-img-article

I (finally) started to join a gym in April.  It was a huge step and a big decision for me because I’ve never committed as a member of a gym before.  I used to really love sports, almost any kind of “fun” sports.  I spent my high school years playing basketball from Monday to Friday every single week.  Physical Education was my favorite subject, obviously. I loved having a sweat, I loved playing in a team, I loved moving my body, I loved the adrenalin rush when I had to face another school in a championship.

But since graduating from high school, I haven’t had the urge to do sports anymore.  I believe because I have a new schedule in the University that was completely different compared to high school’s schedule.   I had to adapt with new routines every semester. One semester, I had 3 days morning class, the next semester I had 5 days afternoon class.  It was not 7AM – 1:30PM anymore like high school, so I found it was quite hard to settle with a sport activity on campus.  Then the laziness came and I hung up my workout shoes.

When Vanya asked us who wanted to join the weight loss challenge in January this year, I was like “I’m totally in!”  It was a chance to wake myself up and in a week we got two Master Bootcamp sessions and one Body Combat/Sh’Bam session for 6 weeks straight, which meant I had to push myself. Harder? Yes, harder, because I hadn’t worn my workout shoes since I don’t know when… 4 years ago?

After the weight loss challenge ended, I asked myself, what else?  What should I do to make it a habit?  I want to be healthy and work out regularly, so I decided to sign up for a gym membership.  Let me tell you, ladies, choosing a gym is more difficult than choosing a blouse for work. 😀  For me, there are five things to consider before closing the deal. Hope these will help! (more…)
