Dior Birds of Paradise Product Review and Swatches

Some days you just got to wear color. Fortunately, in the world of makeup, we’re not lacking in colors to wear. Take a look at this summer collection from Dior Birds of Paradise. Inspired by the vibrancy of nature, the whole collection is a true celebration of summer, with vibrant hues of blue, bamboo green, and juicy coral imbuing every product. I was fortunate enough to experience most of the collection first-hand and I’m very excited to share my personal review with all of you.

The first item I’m going to review is this Diorskin Nude Tan Paradise Blush Duo #002 in Coral Glow. It’s a bronzer and blush duo in one package. The packaging is a signature classic Dior quilted design. It also comes with a mini bronzing brush which I found it pretty useful. The color is a quartet of two bronzing shades and two bright coral shades. Absolutely perfect for subtle contouring and adding a beautiful glow to your cheek. The bronzing shades are very fine and subtle so don’t expect a hard-core, chiseled-contoured cheek because it will only give you just enough definition for everyday use. The coral has pretty good pigmentation so just make sure to apply it with a light hand. I personally think this is a must-have from the collection.

The next product is Dior Jelly Lip Pen in Carioca. At first, I was a bit surprised that Dior had come up with this “cheap” looking jelly lip pen. It seriously looks like just any regular drugstore lip pen with the Dior name on it. But anyway, I still gave it a try and saw how it performed. The color looks scary bright orange on the pen, but it’s actually extremely sheer when applied. It just gives you a nice hint of coral. The only good thing about this product is that it’s very hydrating. Normally I have to layer any lip products with my favorite Burt’s Bees lip balm, but with this one, I don’t have to.

This is another star of the show. Dior 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow in Peacock. I picked this over the other one, Blue Lagoon, because this palette has more of a warm undertone so it’s more flattering for my skin tone. The overall color pay-off is good, but not great. I noticed a little fallout during application and the lasting power is okay. The color itself is somewhat wearable and surprisingly chic. So if you’re into bright eyes, you’ll want to add this to your vanity.

Next up, Diorshow Liner Waterproof in Aqua Green. It’s a good liner because the color has a very good pay off, the packaging is sturdy and very “Dior,” and best of all it’s retractable so you don’t have to worry about sharpening or breaking it.

And last but not least, is Dior Vernis in Samba. Again, I chose this set over the other one, Bahia, because both Samba nail polishes have warm undertones, so they complement my skin better. The first one is a shimmery peacock blue and the second one a feathery mint green. Both are this season’s “it” colors. I got a lot of compliments wearing the mint green!

And this is how the products look when applied to my face:

Okay enough of my serious face. I want to know how you feel about this collection. Which product is your favorite? Let us know.
