T.M. Lewis' Dress Shirts: The Wrap Dress of Menswear

seo-img-article

Since the rise of the metrosexual man some fifteen years ago, men’s magazines have really upped their editorial game. Magazines like GQ, Esquire, and Details have not only published some really entertaining articles, but they have made it more than OK for men to want to look good again. I actually subscribe to GQ and Esquire’s RSS feeds, and I’m rewarded by slews of hugely engrossing – and often controversial – articles. If you look closely, the common thread among the covers (aside from the obvious fact that most of the are all white men–a discussion for another time!) is the presence of the unassuming dress shirt. Worn under a jacket or sweater, with or without a tie, with sleeves neatly buttoned at the cuffs or rolled up to the elbows, the dress shirt has been a staple in men’s wardrobe for decades.

Their Indonesian store, located at Lippo Mall Kemang, is their fiftieth shop outside of the UK. International Director, Mark Dunhill, told a small gathering of the media how the group is excited about the opportunity presented at the Indonesian market, with a burgeoning middle respecting and wanting to emulate English style in their quest for success. This year will see the opening of three stores, with a further 10-15 stores projected within the next few years.

The collection presented at  the fashion show consisted of finely-cut button-down shirts in check patterns, gingham, and bright colors just in time for the summer. These are great double-duty shirts, which would look great under a dinner jacket for formal occasions, or on their own with sleeves rolled up to the elbows for a more casual look.
