15. Inside Major Minor Ladies’ Makeup Pouches

The Ladies; Inneke and Ambar

We paid a visit earlier this month to the Major Minor workshop and had a very good time interviewing owners Ari and Sari Seputra, and their young proteges Ambar Pratiwi and Inneke Margarethe, the designer duo behind the successful local brand. One thing I did after we finished the interview session was ask Ambar and Inneke to take out their bags and makeup pouches.  I wanted to see what makeup they bring with them every day, and  of course it’s always fun to know what other girls are loving right now. It’s also no surprise that What’s In Her Bag and Inside Her Makeup Pouch articles are some of my favorite readings. :)

I jotted down many great items that I’ve never tried before, because it’s very much like getting a recommendation from our trusted friends.  I usually meet the girls at fashion shows or Major Minor events and what I can tell you for sure is they know what they’re doing with all these products. Ambar always has this beautiful glow on her cheeks, and Inneke’s smoky eyes steal my attention every time.

Now thanks to these ladies, we can know what they use for makeup.  Let’s start with Ambar’s makeup pouch.

This is a makeup pouch that she got from Clarins, and the size is perfect for her needs.  It can hold everything that she needs to create the look that she wants.  I was really curious to know what blush she was wearing because everytime I meet her, she has glowing cheeks! In a very good way, of course.  So, let’s take a look :

  • NARS Penny Arcade Larger Than Life Lipgloss
  • Gloss D’Armani Lip Gloss 514
  • Benefit High Beam
  • Bliss Body Butter
  • The Body Shop small comb
  • Christian Dior mirror.
  • Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush 16 Rose Coup de Foudre
  • Kiehl’s Lip Balm Cranberry
  • Hermes Rose Ikebana perfume
  • Shiseido Lacquer Rouge Lipstick RD 203
  • Shu Uemura Lipstick CR 310
  • Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner.
  • Masami Shouko Eyeshadow Brush
  • Shu Uemura Whitefficient Pen 56 Instant Spot Brightener
  • Shu Uemura Raspberry & Mocca Eyeshadow Palette

Ambar recommend the Gloss D’Armani Lip Gloss and Shiseido Lipstick to me.  I personally love how the lipgloss looks on her lips.  The texture gives off a nice effect and the color is just the safest option but beautiful for every occasion.  As for the Shiseido lipstick: Inneke own one too, but she didn’t put it in her makeup pouch, she put it in her bag instead.  Both of them told me Shiseido lipsticks are their all-time favorite.  They have dry lips (me too!) and the texture of this lipstick is so good and doesn’t worsen their lip condition.  So if you see future Lipstick Monday posts from me, don’t be surprised if I put out one of Shiseido lipsticks.  These girls made me buy one! :D

Now, let’s move on to Inneke’s Makeup Pouch.

As you can see, Inneke has a bigger makeup pouch and she carries bigger products.  She uses a Muji Makeup Pouch that can store many products.  Inneke has dry skin, and she has been using prescription creams to prevent and treat acne.  She loves light makeup so she chooses light liquid foundation and loose powder combination.  It looks natural and it doesn’t feel heavy, she said.  Even though she doesn’t use highlighter every single day, she makes sure she has one, just in case. :)

  • Topshop Highlighter
  • Too Faced Smokey Eye Shadow Collection
  • Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder
  • Dr. Kun creams
  • Shu Uemura Smooth Fit Fluid Foundation
  • The Body Shop Face Primer Lily Cole Edition
  • Silky Girl Gel Eyeliner
  • Benefit Box O’Powder Dallas
  • Tamia Eyelash Curler
  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream
  • Mederma Skin Care For Scars
  • NYX Eyeshadow Base
  • Masami Shouko Eyeshadow Brush
  • Wardah Eyebrow Pencil (Black)
  • Pixy Eyeliner
  • The Body Shop Face & Body Brush

For me, the Too Faced Smokey Eye Shadow Collection stood out the most, because it looks so good on Inneke’s eyes and has all these gorgeous smokey colors that we need to create a stunning dimension on the eyes.  Oh, of course Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder caught my eyes as well.  I’ve been wanting to splurge on this powder but there’s always something else that comes up and makes me buy anything but this powder. In fact, this powder was chosen as one of the best Powders in our Fashionese Daily Best of Beauty Awards 2012!  And loose powder is known as the best friend for acne-prone skin because the chances of you getting clogged pores is minimalised.  Okay, let’s put it in the wish list first. :)

And that’s all for part 1, Ladies.  Part 2 will be coming up soon, and that’s gonna give you a look at what’s in their bags.  Stay tuned for that!
