Battle of the Week: Anti-Ageing Eye Creams

seo-img-article

The fine lines around the eyes for me are the scariest, because they pop out of nowhere and are very hard to eliminate. Oh age, why do you catch up with me too soon? And the scariest thing is, it shows a glimpse of the future- that fine lines can appear anywhere in your face anytime soon *gasp*. Call me paranoid, but at my current age of early 30s, I’m feeling that it’s better to be safe than sorry. Hence, the anti-ageing eye cream! Even if you’re starting to use them now, there’s no guarantee that the fine lines around your eyes won’t appear anytime soon, because it’s the most delicate skin on the surface of your facial skin. Stress and lack of sleep only make it worse.

So a good eye cream is a very important to have. Make it your bestfriend, because when it works, you’re do not want to part with it. Let’s start with the bottom up to the stellar one, shall we?

Skip It: History of Whoo Qi & Jin Eye Cream

Sorry if I disappoint History of Whoo fans, but I truly recommend if you’re searching for an anti-ageing eye cream that promises to diminish the appearance of fine lines around your eyes area, you better skip this. This line – one that is in yellow packaging – I presume is the cheapest – out of the expensive lot – line that they got. I know there are raves about how great History of Whoo products are, including the eye creams, but this isn’t one of them. For me this only provides basic hydration and keeping the condition of my undereye area, nothing more. So for the price that is quite hefty, for a regular eye cream I suggest for you to browse around drugstore brands such as L’Oreal Paris or Olay that are known to have decent eye creams.

Nice to Have: Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Correcting Eye Cream

I used to use the older version of this eye cream and I remember that although it wasn’t spectacular but it’s very much acceptable. At a considerably reasonable price for an anti-ageing eye cream, it’s definitely a product that I would recommend. The older version is quite balmy texture-wise, but this one isn’t. It’s a white cream that spread evenly to the eyes. Hydrating, but not in a way that the renowned Clinique All About Eyes is. I see that this cream kind of helps in putting the lid on any further fine lines appearing on my eyes area but it took some time to eliminate the appearance of fine lines. But since the area looks hydrated, it doesn’t look as bad as it used to. The claim is “After regular usage of 12 weeks, the results are 54% reduction in active smile lines around the eye area.”

Worth the Splurge: Menard Embellir Eye Cream IDR 2,832,500

I praise their serum because it’s a multifunction serum that is just that good. And you know what? The eye cream that is part of Menard’s premium line Embellir is just equally as good and worth to praise. You just need a very tiny bit of it – one rice grain for both sides of the eyes area. It’s super hydrating but not balmy nor watery on the eyes. I see a significant improvement on my fine lines when using this. Most importantly it helps with my black under eye. The hefty price tag is definitely worth the splurge!

So, ladies, what eye cream are you currently using?
