Fendi Saving the Hope Through Trevi Fountain Restoration Project

seo-img-article

There’s a well known tradition when you’re in Rome to throw a coin into the Trevi fountain. Legend has it that if you throw a coin into the fountain, you will be coming back to Rome one day in the future. Rome is a city that you want to revisit once you’ve gone there. It’s such a captivating city with all the historical landmark and of course the well-loved designer boutiques.

So it’s a tragedy and really saddens me to hear that the City of Rome has to carry out an emergency intervention of the fountain that costs them 320,000 euro, and it’s not even the full work! Just an intervention to safe the Trevi fountain. The City of Rome has made a plea to large companies and private individuals to help them restore the Trevi fountain to all its glory. And their plea was not unheard of, because the fashion house FENDI immediately made a pledge that they will be solely funding the restoration of the  Trevi fountain.

As a historic Roman fashion brand that has deep roots within the city which has inspired them, it’s only natural for FENDI to answer to this appeal. But this is only the beginning because FENDI intends to support a project called “FENDI for FOUNTAINS” aimed to restore historical fountains in the city of Rome. The cost for restoring the Trevi fountain alone will cost up to 2,120,000 Euros and they’ve committed to contribute to the restoration intervention on the Four Fountains.

Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Fendi commented, “I believe that in this moment in time it essential for Italy, and Rome in particular, to promote a positive message of reconstruction, renewal, and restoration, capable of reaching far beyond its borders, as a strong sign of change. And I believe that it is significant that this message is coming from a historical Roman fashion brand such as Fendi. This project allows us to once again reinforce our geographical and cultural Roman roots, which we are very proud of.“

Bravo for FENDI for recognising the need of preserving the historical-artistic heritage.
