Rihanna’s First Debut: Her Collaboration with River Island at LFW 2013

It seems there’s no putting a break on Rihanna domination!

As we know it, she is known for her fashion style – whatever that may be. Every dress she wears on the red carpets or just her daily style are always under scrutiny by the watchful eyes. She loves to experiment but also sometimes stays simple, classy and modern. That’s why the paparazzi loves to photograph her style and many people choose her as their fashion role model, because there’s always something new about her style. Not only she’s an accomplished singer, but she’s also a designer. In 2010, she first debuted the capsule collection she created for Giorgio Armani. A great artist is what Armani said about Riri – Rihanna’s nickname and what her fans prefer to call her by. A statement from a famous Italian designer, which became her big ticket to spread her wings into the fashion foray.

Just recently, Riri had the chance to relive her moment as a designer. This year, Riri designed a new collection for River Island. What’s exciting about is that the collection was shown in London Fashion Week 2013. In her collection, she opts for simple designs dominated with monochromatic color palettes. Although, the see-through dresses which were a part of the collection are a little awkward, though. But mostly, it was good and very Riri.

Quoted from theĀ Telegraph, on Rihanna’s comment on the collection, “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.” From her statement, we can conclude that Riri’s career in fashion foray still has many lives to come.

What about the collection? Here are what stands out from the Rihanna x River Island collaboration.

1. Denim Domination

2. Cropped Top

3. Going Sporty

4. Neon Color

Well, she really did a great job, didn’t she? I love the way she brings street style to a more high fashion level.
