Ladies, here in FD, we’re always diligent in reminding you how important it is to use sunblock, sunscreen or any skin care that’s safe and has SPF (protecting skin against UV-B) and PA ++ (protecting skin against UV-A ) for your skin.  Please allow me to remind you again how dangerous UV-A and UVB  are for our skin.

First of all,  let’s differentiate UV-A with UV-B.

UV-A has long wave rays that can penetrate into the skin tissue and blood vessels. UV-A radiation is very strong as long as the sun is still up, and it can get through the glass and reflected by the asphalt.  So, it doesn’t matter if we stay indoor for 24 hours, we still need to protect our skin from UV-A, because UV-A can cause wrinkles and fine lines and also make our skin dull.  Uh-oh, of course we don’t want that to happen.

How about UV-B? UV-B has medium wave rays and only penetrates the surface of our skin. The strongest radiation is at 10am – 2pm, when the sun is at its highest.  UV-B can’t get through the glass and can’t be reflected by the asphalt. Although UV-B only penetrates the surface of our skin, it can cause sunburn, redness and even make our skin peel.

The dangerous thing, both UV-A and UV-B can cause skin cancer *knock on wood*.  So please, don’t underestimate the power of the sun.

Talking about UV Rays, recently, I just found out about Skin Aqua.  Skin Aqua is originally from Japan, and Rohto Indonesia produce them here with the same ingredients and benefits.  There’s no reason to worry, although the packaging is slightly different, they are produced with the highest standard and quality following the exact level of Japan’s.

Skin Aqua is UV Skin Care and is very convenient for everyday use. By using Skin Aqua, you will not only get double protection from UV-A and UV-B but also skin care benefit such as moisturizing, mantaining elasticity and also nourishing. I do love two in one product because it’s juast more practical and a real time saver.

Another great thing about Skin Aqua is that it absorbs into the skin quickly.  If you’re familiar with that greasy and thick feeling when you apply sunblock or sunscreen on your skin,  which is by the way the main reason why  I often feel discouraged  to apply sunscreen, you won’t experience that with Skin Aqua. I did a little test by placing an oil blotting sheet on my skin after applying Skin Aqua and waited for 15 – 20 seconds, and what I got is a clean sheet.  Love it!

Now, let’s take a look at the four types of Skin Aqua :

  • Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk SPF 50 PA+++
This particular product has the highest SPF, so it protects your skin longer than the others.  It has been improved with Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen which play a role in moisturizing, softening, and keeping the skin’s elasticity.  It also contains Vitamins B5 and E, to nourish the skin.
  • Skin Aqua UV Moisture Gel SPF 30 PA++
It has an oil- free formula and is perfect for oily skin.  Just like Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk, it also has  improved Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen and Vitamins B5 and E and an additional Vitamin C.
  • Skin Aqua UV Mild Milk SPF 25 PA++
This one is for me!  I’m kidding.  But, not really. This particular one is for sensitive skin.  It contains no fragrance, no color ingredient, and it contains Allantoin which helps to reduce redness and inflammation.  It also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen that will leave your skin soft, smooth and elastic.
  • Skin Aqua UV Whitening Milk SPF 20 PA++
Just like Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk and Moisture Gel, this one also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen.  The only difference is that it also contains Arbutin, which is a skin brightening agent.

I bought Skin Aqua UV Mild Milk two weeks ago, and it’s been in my bag ever since.  I really love how fast it’s absorbed into my skin.  I apply this after my skin care routine, and also use it as a body lotion to protect my whole body from UV rays.  Because it feels so light, I don’t mind reapplying in the middle of the day.

Since I put a few products on my face, I always make sure to do the basic essential steps for my skin care routine.  I usually start with makeup remover wipes, cleanser (twice at night, because I want to make sure all of my makeup and anything else are gone), toner, then moisturizer.  DesZell wrote about the basic steps on skin care 101 here.  Remember ladies, this is very important because at night, we want our skin to breathe easily and take a rest after a long day.

Skin Aqua retails at around IDR 35,000 – 40,000, depending on where you buy it.  You can find them easily at supermarkets and drugstores.  And if you’d like join an in-depth discussion, please go to Skin Aqua Thread.

So, ladies, after learning what Skin Aqua has to offer, would you be interested to try it?
