Metro Collaborates with Susan Budihardjo Fashion School's Graduates

seo-img-article

METRO Department Store has a program called Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Through this program, METRO is showing their support for Indonesian young and talented fashion designers from Susan Budihardjo Fashion School by showcasing their designs at METRO Department store. When a big retailmart company like METRO is supporting our very own fashion designers, it just feels right. Instead of visiting fashion designers’ boutique, we can easily see their designs when we go to the mall (which most of us often do).

“As a company engaged in retail fashion industry, we always strive to support and show concern for the local businesses and as in this opportunity is a candidate for a new designer in Indonesia. METRO saw an opportunity for their work to be accepted and in the country.” said Anskarina Christin, Assistant General Manager Marketing of METRO Department Store.

METRO is guiding the young fashion designers for them to learn more about the retail industry, the market and the right strategy. Selling clothes in a Department Store has a different way and approach in comparison to selling at a boutique. A designer would have to think about the production capacity, sizing, and innovation and at the same time find a common ground for both parties. METRO sells their collections exclusively (you won’t find them anywhere else) and the young designers will also get a chance to learn more about the retail industry.

Now, let’s take a look at the ready-to-wear collections. To be honest, I was very impressed with all of them. The collections are wearable for all occasions, either for work, a night out, lounging, or to wear to a formal occasion. From a simple design to vintage and modern. From black and white to bright colors. They have it all. The graduates are Anaz Khairunnas, Andreas Kurniawan, Christian Wohangara, Fetty Rusli & Jessica Dora, Alexander Tambi, Dedy Pramono Widjaja, Marsel Hober, Pei, Ratih Atindriya, Silvani Victoria and Tinna Widianti. I can’t choose a favourite because there’s always at least one piece that I love from their collection. Decisions, decisions.
