Restarting Your Workout Regimen

Have you experienced it? You had been the good girl, incorporating physical exercise into your life – but then something happened. You had to stop your regular workout schedule and now you feel like you are back to square one.

I know I have experienced it. Pretty recently, to be honest with you. Something changed in my daily life, and I went from training five to six days a week to, well, rarely. Restarting to train again is very hard. But I find that, just as like when you started working out some time go, you just have to put your mind to it.

 

When you go from pretty fit to what you, errr, were before you exercise regularly, things could get hard. Basically, you have to re-condition your body. And that means, you have to go through the stages of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) for days, because you may have lost your stamina, strength and/or flexibility. Your muscles are now not used to the strain and work you used to put them through.

But we all know deep down that we need to workout regularly – for the sake of health, experience and ease of living. The benefits outweigh the pain of DOMS, the bullet sweats, the panting and the time commitment. So here I am sharing what I think we all can do when we need to restart our commitment to a better self.
