How To: Survive the Holiday Season in Style!

seo-img-article

Now that Hari Raya is over, the real work starts to kick in. Those piles of serving dishes that you need to wash, dirty clothes you need to laundry and the mess all over the house that you need to clean up. Oh, the hassle of being left by the people that made your daily routine much easier. Don’t worry, we’re not going to give you ‘how to glam up’ articles over the next few days, because we know, what you really need is more of a guide on how to survive the holiday season, in style!

For me, one of the thing that I tried to minimize is piles of dirty clothes. Because, I don’t have the luxury to change clothes three times a day anymore, since I will be the one doing the laundry at home during the holiday! And lesser time doing the laundry, ironing and folding the fresh laundered clothes means more time doing other house chores. During the holiday period, we tend to spend more time outside, either to visit relatives or eat out. That means, you use more clothes than usual. Vicious circle, I know!

But we’ve got some tips for you to minimize that piles of dirty laundry.

1. Start exercising ’10 for 10′ period!

Remember our ‘10 for 10′ challenge? Where we challenge the Female Daily members to choose 10 outfits that they get to wear for the next 10 days. Don’t you think it’s the best time to actually challenge yourself for another ’10 for 10′ period! The key is to mix and match, not only colours (choose both that are classic and colourful) but also pieces (classic pieces with a more dressy and statement one). At the end of day 10, you will only need to wash 10 articles of clothing!

I wouldn’t be so strict as to use only 10 pieces for the next 10 days, but basically, plan your outfit as if you’re in ’10 for 10′ challenge. So you can mix what you’re going to use today with something that you’ve already used the day before. That way, you don’t need to keep taking out fresh article of clothing hanging on your closet, every single day.
